I am a photojournalist living in Ogden, Utah and a staff photographer at the Standard-Examiner newspaper.

Beyond photojournalism, I have a personal and professional background in education, natural resources and community development. The photos I take and the stories they tell reflect these interests.

My work has been featured in publications around the world and has been recognized by a range of local and national awards. Recently this has included being named the Photographer of the Year by the Utah News Photographers Association and receiving first place in Utah’s contest for best multimedia journalist from the Society of Professional Journalists.

As a photographer, I try to tell stories that haven’t been told. This can range from something happening miles away to an issue that is hidden in plain sight.  I make photos that will help viewers both relate to the events unfolding, and be encouraged to learn more about the world around them. With an artistic eye, I strive to tell stories about the individual, the community, the environment, and where all of these overlap.
